I am Hanneke, the Dutch visual artist behind FotoGraaGHanneke. My creative world moves between photography, AI art, digital manipulation, 3D, augmented reality and animation. Although my tools and techniques may differ, they all serve the same purpose: exploring feelings, telling stories and creating images that connect imagination with reality. My journey began with photography. Inspired by my father, who introduced me to the camera and the magic of the darkroom, and my grandfather, who taught me to notice the smallest details in nature, I learned to look beyond the obvious. That curiosity still shapes my work today. Nature, light, reflections, flowers, butterflies and the quiet details of everyday life often find their way into my art. I am drawn to golden light, atmospheric colours and dreamlike worlds where something familiar can become unexpected. Sometimes my images are gentle and hopeful; sometimes they explore identity, vulnerability, belonging or the invisible emotions we carry within us. I love the moment when fantasy and reality meet, when an image leaves just enough unexplained for the viewer to discover their own meaning. I do not always want to tell a complete story. I would rather open a door, awaken a feeling or invite someone to pause and see the world a little differently. For me, creating is also a way of processing experiences, finding distraction and giving shape to thoughts and emotions that are not always easy to express in words. Art allows me to transform these feelings into something visual, something that can be shared without needing to explain everything. I see technology as a set of creative brushes rather than boundaries. Whether I am working with a camera, AI, Photoshop or 3D tools, I follow the idea, feeling or curiosity that inspires me. Each medium offers a different way to experiment, discover and bring something from my imagination into the world. My work is an invitation to look closer, feel freely and embrace the space between what is real and what might be possible. If an image makes someone feel something, sparks their imagination or offers a moment of wonder, then it has found its purpose. Welcome to my world, where imagination and reality meet.
