Voices
by Nashmil
This piece portrays a woman deeply affected by the biting remarks and sarcastic comments of others words that strike her from the outside but slowly begin to settle within. Little by little, she internalizes these voices, accepts them, believes them, and eventually turns them into a garment she stitches onto herself. A garment that does not protect her, but restrains her woven from judgment, fear, shame, and imposed expectations. It symbolizes how the words of others can transform into an invisible yet heavy layer we end up wearing as part of our identity. Digital painting
