The Fire Is Ours
by Biolap
Prometheus’s fire is not an element. It is an access code. Zeus hid the fire not out of greed but out of fear. Fire gives not warmth. It gives distance: between a person and the cold, between darkness and form, between an animal and one who can look into the flame and see the future. Today the fire lives on the board. A silicon crystal instead of a spark. The sky is not Olympus but a server farm where god-algorithms decide who may know, who may create, who may have the right to tomorrow. "The Fire Is Ours" is not theft. It is a return. Prometheus did not steal fire from the gods. He returned it to those to whom it belongs by right of existence. So today: knowledge, code, tool — are not the property of corporations or elites. They are the air of thought. To deny a person access to the fire is to make them an eternal consumer of someone else’s light. The blood-red sunset is the color of betrayal in Olympus’s eyes. But for us — the color of dawn. Fire is sacred not because it was sent from above. It is sacred because it is passed on. And as long as a hand is ready to lift the flame in defiance of the ban, no one will be able to turn humanity into a shadow by someone else’s hearth. The fire is ours. Not because we stole it. Because we are its continuation.
