How Many Times Must I Change?
by Armina
Some nights I wonder how many times I had to walk away from myself just to become a woman the world could love more easily. Each time, a different face fell away from me; one to be loved, one to avoid judgment, one to make myself smaller. And now, between all these abandoned faces, I can no longer tell which voice is truly mine. My body is cracked, yet my roots still breathe beneath the soil… Maybe because beneath all these altered faces, there is still a girl inside me who only wanted to be enough exactly as she was.
